To mark the completion of 6 years at Cabot Elementary School the 5th Grade Class celebrates with a yearbook, class t-shirts, a social action project, and a transition ceremony and party in June.
The 2014-15 5th Grade Activities co-chairs are Lisa Adams and Jen Borhegyi, please contact them if you are interested in getting involved or have any questions.

Several fundraisers take place throughout the school year to raise money for the special activities.

THE YEAR SO FAR

  • 5th GRADE FRIDAYS
The 5th graders have been very busy with great and growing attendance on 5th Grade Fridays, our usual 8am 20 minute project working sessions.
To see the schedule of 5th grade sessions visit the Cabot Events page (5th grade activities are in red) or subscribe from from your gmail account.
5th graders and parents are welcome to come to all and any meetings!
  • ELECTION DAY BAKE SALE
Our first Bake Sale back on Election Day, raised our first $500! Great baking!
This gave us funds to purchase digital cameras for our Class Photographers and start building our funds for other projects, class gift, and transition day.
We will be hosting more bake sales at the Book Fair, Cabot Dance, and Cabot Fair.
  • PHOTO GROUP
The Photo Group has been documenting our 5th grade year, and will continue to do so.
Posting of photographs will start appearing this Friday, Ferbruary 7th.
  • BRACELETGRAMS
The Rainbow Loom Obsession fueled the idea to replace the Candygrams at the Cabot Fair, with the Braceletgrams!
We have 100+ bracelets bagged and ready for gramming.
We will also sell their wonderful creations at the upcoming bake sales and bookfair!
  • CD MAKING CLUB
The CD making club, is well past 50 songs for their transition day tunes playlist.
In upcoming sessions, we will explore the art of cd burning, and investigate the laws of distribution and sales…with the possibility of contacting artists and agents for permissions.
  • PENNY CHALLENGE
The Penny Challenge is our next big event and the 5th grade planners are doing a great job!
They will be making posters this week, as we finalize details, have designed our flyer on Powerpoint, will be circulating sign up sheets in 5th grade classrooms to help with the change each penny war morning.
Principal DiBella’s idea has gotten great support, and this will take place the week of March 3rd.
  • ACTIVITIES PLANNING GROUP, FOOD PLANNING, T-SHIRT MAKING
Soon to meet are the Activites Planning group, Food Planning, and T Shirt making groups for 5th grade transition day.
