The PTO’s Creative Arts & Sciences Committee brings an exciting science program to Cabot 3rd graders.
Vernal pools and one of their inhabitants, the Spotted Salamander, fascinated Ms. Lamstein. She decided to research and write a children’s book about this New England amphibian and its unusual migratory event that takes place every Spring. The event is called “Big Night.” In her carefully researched, science-based book Big Night for Salamanders, Ms. Lamstein describes the Spotted Salamander’s lifecycle, habitat, and the “Big Night.” Her powerpoint presentation includes these topics using exquisite photography and a compelling video of the Spotted Salamander’s lifecycle. She will also describe her research.
