Emilie Boon will visit our Kindergarteners on Jan 14.

Emilie Boon is best known for her beguiling depictions of animal characters.  Ms. Boon has written and illustrated more than twenty books for young children including Peterkin Meets A Star, Belinda’s Balloon, 123 How Many Animals Can You See?, No Kiss for Grandpa by Harriet Ziefert and Bun for Barney by Joyce Dunbar.

Emilie’s presentations are interactive and will include a short talk interspersed with numerous examples of her artwork, a reading from one of her books, and a drawing demonstration.  The finished drawing will be given to the class.  Afterwards, in a hands-on project, the students will be given a simple accordion book that they will illustrate using Emilie’s signature technique using crayons and watercolors.  These books are amazing works of art that the children will be proud to share.
