This program for students in Grade 3 is about the land, the animals, and the native peoples of North America. Using a tipi as the classroom, certified teachers dressed in clothing of the western plains of the 1800’s present hands-on learning experiences concerning Native America and early American history. To help break down long perpetuated stereotypes, there are three major topics presented in each program:
  1. A comparison of the terms “Indian” and “Native American,”
  2. Native peoples did not all live in the same way, and
  3. There are currently descendants of these peoples.

Native American Perspectives is neither an assembly program nor a stage show, it is an interactive experience.
