Henry Massar will be sharing his knowledge of simple machines with 5th grade students thanks to the Creative Arts and Sciences Committee.
Mr. Massar is a retired Newton school teacher and an engaging and inspiring presenter. He uses everyday simple machines like seesaws, scissors, and hedge clippers to illustrate the science of these objects. Students learn why these machines help perform a large amount of work with minimal force. Mr. Massar uses familiar objects to reinforce the the concepts that the students study in science. The program is interactive as students visit “stations” where they can interact with the various concepts. This program compliments and reinforces the 5th grade science program.
