The Country for November’s Traveling Around the World Display is El Salvador.  Special thanks to Carolina Rivas (Clarissa & Camilia’s mom) for putting together this display.

Some questions discussed at the presentation:
How many seasons do we have? 2: dry and rainy season
Do we use the same currency in El Salvador? Yes, since 2001 we started using US$
Is the school day in El Salvador shorter or longer? Shorter from 7:30 to 11:30 am or from 12 to 5 pm
Can you visit a beach and a mountain in one day? Yes, our country is small but landscapes change rapidly so you can go to the beach in the morning and in the afternoon be in the mountains.
Thing that I miss the most besides family: the length of the days. Since we are close to the Equator, sunrise is around 6 am every day of the year and sunset around 6 pm.
Food staples: corn, rice, beans, avocados, plantains.
